Yevgeny Shrago is a policy counsel for Public Citizen’s Energy and Climate Program, where he advocates for financial regulators to direct companies, banks, money managers, and other private actors to better identify and address the risks related to the climate crisis. He has broad experience in financial regulations, regulatory law and policy, and protecting consumers.
Before coming to Public Citizen, Yevgeny worked as an attorney at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Obama Presidential Personnel Office, and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. He has also worked as a consultant and project leader with the Boston Consulting Group and has served as a visiting fellow at the Revolving Door Project, where he worked on improving governance capacity and protecting the civil service, and a fellow at Americans for Financial Reform, where he helped develop recommendations for a fair and just financial system. He graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School and with high honors from the University of Michigan.
