Stephanie Camarillo

Research Director


Stephanie Camarillo is the Research Director for Global Trade Watch, providing in-depth information on an array of trade and globalization issues. Before joining Public Citizen, she worked as an international arbitration and trade attorney representing Latin American governments in ISDS arbitration. She also practiced law in Mexico before and during the re-negotiation of NAFTA, where she focused on global supply chain compliance and examining unfair trade practices.

She attended Duke Law where she specialized in international and comparative law. She also received a Master of Law degree from Georgetown University Law Center in International Business and Economic Law and a Certificate in World Trade Organization and International Trade Studies. While at Georgetown Law, she was selected as a Lloyd N. Cutler Fellow for the 2021 Salzburg Seminar for her research on sustainable development in international trade, focused on supply chain transparency and corporate responsibility of consumer protection.
