Katie Parrish

Deputy Director of Communications

Katie is the Deputy Director of Communications at Public Citizen where she works with the communications team to help tell the story of our work, shape the national conversation, advocate for the public interest.

Katie has over a decade of experience in media relations, digital campaigning, and grassroots organizing. Previously, she led communications for state-level elections at American Bridge 21st Century. She also served as communications director at the Michigan League of Conservation Voters, focusing on safe drinking water and the 2018 midterm elections.

An organizer at heart, Katie started her career in her home state of Florida where she led a grassroots campaign to ban offshore drilling in the wake of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. She continued her climate advocacy at New Organizing Institute and later at Free Range Studios where she helped environmental nonprofits design innovative digital campaigns.

Katie is a graduate of the University of Central Florida and an MPA candidate at Indiana University.
