HOPE for Africa

HOPE for Africa, a proposed alternative to the "African Growth and Opportunity" Act, is based on the recognition that African nations have the right to determine their own approach to economic development. 

Rather than being conditioned on African nations' adopting a one-size-fits-all economic model, the substantial benefits provided (debt relief, development assistance, market access), are instead designed to provide African nations with the resources and the freedom of maneuver necessary to pursue the policies that are in the best interest of their citizens.

Because Public Citizen does not accept funds from corporations, professional associations or government agencies, we can remain independent and follow the truth wherever it may lead.
