Description:

A lawyer representing a company that offers a “turnkey Internet business opportunity” to sell so-called “science based Nutraceuticals” threatened suit against the operator of web site that allows users to post their experiences with companies that promote themselves through telemarketing. Although the web site owner is immune from suit under the Communications Decency Act. The marketer threatened to run up her expenses by joining her as a defendant while seeking an injunction. Public Citizen explained to the lawyer the many ways in which his threats of litigation were unsupported, and warned that both the lawyer and his client could be made to pay for such a suit.
