| Description: |
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit held that a ban on peddling on the public sidewalks within 1,000 feet of the United Center, a Chicago sports stadium that is the home of the Chicago Blackhawks, violated the First Amendment as applied to a lone bookseller selling a book criticizing the Blackhawks' owner. The City sought cert in the Supreme Court.
Alan Morrison and Bonnie Robin-Vergeer of Public Citizen were co-counsel for the respondent at the cert stage, and the Court denied cert. |
