Paxil Pediatric SettlementHoormann, et al. v. SmithKline Beecham Corp. * * * The claiming period for this class action settlement has ended. * * *
If you ever purchased the antidepressant Paxil or Paxil CR for your child or ward, then you are entitled to recover the money you spent on the drug. A class action lawsuit filed against SmithKline Beecham — the maker of Paxil — alleged that the drug company knew that Paxil was dangerous and ineffective when given to children under the age of 18. Although a settlement was reached in October 2006, that settlement was dramatically improved at a recent hearing. Under the terms of the revised settlement, if you ever purchased Paxil or Paxil CR for your child or ward, you are entitled to recover 100% of your documented out-of-pocket expenses. If you are unable to find documentation of your Paxil purchases, you can still recover up to $100.
