Public Citizen is proud to sponsor of the upcoming VotingRightsMarch.org – a march on Washington for DC Voting Rights. More than half a million people live in the capital of the United States without voting representation. Citizens of the District of Columbia pay U.S. taxes, fight and die for the U.S. during wartime, and are governed by the laws that Congress passes. And yet, shockingly, DC citizens have only a non-voting delegate in the House of Representatives. Thousands will march on Washington on this Monday, April 16, to demand the long-denied right to vote for Washingtonians. If you are in the Washington, DC area, please join us! Spread the word to your friends and family in the area, or contact me to find out how you can help the cause. Find out more about how you can march with us in person or in purpose to restore our democratic principles: action@citizen.org. more resources
Because Public Citizen does not accept funds from corporations, professional associations or government agencies, we can remain independent and follow the truth wherever it may lead. But that means we depend on the generosity of concerned citizens like you for the resources to fight on behalf of the public interest. If you would like to help us in our fight, click here. |
