Call for support to the International Solidarity LetterWe need your support: Concerned Citizens Against Guam Waterworks Authority (GWA) Privatization, a coalition of indigenous rights activists, the Guam Federation Teachers Union, GWA employees, environmentalists, and other concerned citizens, call for international solidarity that Guam's water is not for sale. Against formidable odds and a government bent on privatizing with the help of international privatization hotshots Black & Veatch and Hunton $ Williams at a breakneck speed, the Concerned Citizens against GWA Privatization, were able to stall the attempt at the second largest privatization under U.S. control. Despite opposition, the demands of the citizens continue to fall on deaf ears as the local elite continue to pursue privatization in meetings with key individuals without the public present or input. A decision about what kind of privatization may take place as soon as August 31, 2005, and we need the support of as many groups and organizations as possible in the next three weeks. Please sign the INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY LETTER. If you have any questions or would like to sign, please mail Sabina Perez at sabinap@earthlink.net. more resources
Because Public Citizen does not accept funds from corporations, professional associations or government agencies, we can remain independent and follow the truth wherever it may lead. But that means we depend on the generosity of concerned citizens like you for the resources to fight on behalf of the public interest. If you would like to help us in our fight, click here. |
