Never before has an administration done so much to make sure so little gets done to protect the public. The Bush administration has weakened or eliminated not just proposed protections of the public health, safety, environment, consumers, and the public interest but also existing protections. Moreover, there are emerging needs for new safeguards, which the Bush administration has not adequately addressed. With this pattern of reckless deregulation, inadequate regulation, and fatal inaction, the Bush administration has ignored its duty to protect the public. |
