Unmet Needs for Public ProtectionNever before has an administration done so much to make sure so little gets done to protect the public. The Bush administration has weakened or eliminated not just proposed protections of the public health, safety, environment, consumers, and the public interest but also existing protections. Moreover, there are emerging needs for new safeguards, which the Bush administration has not adequately addressed. With this pattern of reckless deregulation, inadequate regulation, and fatal inaction, the Bush administration has ignored its duty to protect the public.
Because Public Citizen does not accept funds from corporations, professional associations or government agencies, we can remain independent and follow the truth wherever it may lead. But that means we depend on the generosity of concerned citizens like you for the resources to fight on behalf of the public interest. If you would like to help us in our fight, click here. |
