The Bush administration has worked steadily to benefit corporate interests at the expense of the public interest by eliminating and weakening safeguards of the public health, safety, civil rights, privacy, environment, consumers, and other public interests.  While the administration has required agencies to jump through hoop after hoop before developing new protections, it has allowed them to run rampant with plans to tear down existing safeguards.

Because Public Citizen does not accept funds from corporations, professional associations or government agencies, we can remain independent and follow the truth wherever it may lead.
