Nissan Altimas, built between 1994 and 1995, had a defectively designed airbag that would virtually punch passenger side occupants in the face upon deployment. Dozens of people were blinded by this poorly designed airbag that was supposed to be there for their protection. In April of 2003, after numerous court cases and ceaseless public pressure, Nissan offered a fix to consumers. All along, however, Nissan has claimed that no defect existed.
