Dangerous "Shield Booster Seats" Named by Child Safety Advocates in Bid for Recall

The hazards of shield boosters seats (which are basic booster seats with a padded shield guard that rests in front of a child's chest area) are once again being illuminated by consumer lawsuits. As reported in a 9-24-2002 LA Times article, parents of two of the eighteen children whose deaths are linked to this product, have brought suit against the producer of these seats and are urging the company and NHTSA to sponsor a recall.
