Karilyn Gower

Press Officer, Communications

Karilyn Gower is Public Citizen’s press officer. She helps to write and edit press releases, advisories and other media materials on a wide variety of issues. After graduating from Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in political science, she began her career as a membership and database coordinator at a community organizing group called Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement. Wanting to live in a bigger city, Karilyn headed to Washington, D.C., where she joined the Public Citizen team in December 2013. In her spare time, Karilyn loves to travel, go camping and hiking, read a good book and watch her beloved Patriots play football.
